Measuring success?
How do charities monitor the success of their campaigns and messages in the media?
That's a question we've been researching as part of a project for nfpSynergy.
We've carried out an extensive survey of charities and their media evaluation provision.
It revealed that charities have very different ways of measuring their media presence, from counting the number of clippings, to paying media evaluations large sums to carry out comprehensive tone, message and audience assessments.
Overall, there emerged a general dissatisfaction in the sector with the quality of media evaluation.
