Chemistry and engineering careers campaign

Chemistry and engineering experts at Nottingham University are to embark on a campaign to promote ethical careers in their fields.

The campaign will raise awareness of careers to “develop new sustainable technologies to meet the needs of a changing world” in celebration of a recently launched research centre at the university.

The centre, Driving Innovation in Chemistry and Engineering (DICE), will focus on: environmentally friendly ways of making chemicals, more efficient use of energy, safer chemical products, renewable raw materials, and “zero-waste” processes.

Professor Martyn Poliakoff, from the university's School of Chemistry, said: “DICE aims to promote the chemical sciences and engineering as careers of choice for young people. Our mission is to challenge current thinking and be adventurous
